i pulled it down by the garage. and took a propane torch and used the propane out of that to get it started. it sputtered and died, it had run for about a min like that. then i fired it up like normal and let it high idle. i think something in the carb was stuck, i tapped it and it tried to fire a couple times.
i have been doing the same thing for the last 3 days with my tiller, i got it for free because it was completely clogged up, i have used 3 cans of carb cleaner, taken the carb apart 3 times, and used half a bottle of seafoam, but it almost runs by itself now.
ha, i know what you mean, last summer i worked at a friends small engine shop as a mechanic while school was out. the only thing that kills those old briggs is a rod through the block, they might smoke and knock but they'll run.
haven't had any trouble since then with the truck though
