manual trans id?

i found a possible donor truck for the manual trans swap i want to do. but it seems to be a oddball. the truck is a 1976 reg cab f-150 with 360 and column shift. i have no clue what trans is in it. it appears to be side shifted and not top shifted like a NP 435. any ideas on what they used? it is it is the same length as the c-6 so i can use the driveshafts i have.

The only manual collum shifted trucks that there were, are 3 speed trucks. A 3 speed manual transmision does have the linkage on the side of the transmision.

What does the rating plate say? Try decoding it with the decoder.

the rating plate was gone. but it was a very small tranny so it probably was a 3 speed. any idea on the brand?

does it have 3 links on the side? If so this is what you have I believe. T170F (Code-RUG). It was used between the mid 60's to 79'.
