Setting distributor with Duraspark III

Just replaced the head gaskets, after figuring out the firing order for this beast it runs but I set the rotor at #1 cylinder when the crank was at 0 degrees. Because this is a no-adjustment distributor is this correct or do I rotate the crank to 10 BTDC and put the rotor to #1?

you set the dizzy just like any other. make sure it was at TDC of the compression stroke pointing to your number 1 plug on the cap then start the engine and set timing to the specs on the valve cover.

Thanks for your quick reply. The distributor housing is not adjustable, the Duraspark III system is computer controlled for up to 50 degrees of advance timing from what I've read but nowhere can I find how to set initial timing in the case of a tear-down and rebuild.

The only thing I can change is rotor alignment - so I'm thinking I set it to 0 degrees.

I did find this:
http://aarc.epnet.com/application/85...III_SYSTEM.htm
which probably answers my question.
