I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a complete rebuild kit for my 239 flathead v-8. I've been looking but so far I haven't been able to find a kit, just individual parts. Thanks for the info.
I would aslo recommend Red's. There are other places that have them but they don't specialize in Flatheads.
You can call Red's and talk to either Red or Marylyn and get exactly what you want AND NEED.
Thanks for the info. Looks like Reds is by far the most reasonable one out there that I've looked at. They have a good selection of parts it looks like too.

Reds is not a big supply house, you can get individual attention there, and the most uncommon thing you'll find anywhere - SERVICE
http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm. heres some more info and yes reds is the best place for flathead parts, thats where i get mine from anyway.service who said that? reds can not be beat with service and advise
flathead jacks has complete kits including brand new merc 4" cranks. He is a little on the high side though. I think he sales a kit with new crank, pistons, rings, and bearings for something like $2,000.
ouch. i have a real old junk yard near me and he still has some old items way in the back. got my last merc engine from him.block was trash but the crank and rods were still perfect. droped them into the motor for my 53 f series added my old offie heads and 2x2 intake and a cam i got from reds and a set of reds headers 264 cubic inch flathead with the 060 over bore .man what a sound when they have 10 to 1 in them.
Flipping through some magazines I have and found a rebuild kit in Northern Auto Parts. Anyone have any experience with this company?
I've bought a few parts from NortherAutoParts for my Probe. I'll buy form them again. They were helpfull, and when I called they *gasp* answeared the phone and helped me out human-being style.
Kanters sells quality parts at a competitive price - not too good on their e-mail replys to problems, but I'm pleased with the front end rebuild kit I got from them for my 50 Fordor.
