VERY COOL! I would like to see a how-to in real time as well. Even if it meant multiple episodes.

Did you see they sand blasted the inside of the oil pan? That's very risky. My shop refuses to do it, for good reasons.

Ross, could you explain this to me? Does sandblasting pit the pan enough to cause issues? My novice mind, doesn't see an issue with it....unless you don't get all the blasting material out?

My only question is why? Nobody sees the inside so if there are stains IMHO . . . so what. Is the pan rusted so badly that it could be perforated. I would worry about getting all the sand out.

Bingo! Few pans are totally smooth inside, in particular flathead pans have several areas where sand can be stuck in a crevice until engine vibration knocks it loose.... and there it goes thru the oil system.

My engine's pan had rust just above the oil level line. The normal caustic vat didn't get it all, so they acid vatted it. Nothing but some staining now.
