I was wondering if anyone has BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires on thier F-150? I was wondering what kind of road noise you get from them, if any? Is it extremely loud or annoying? Any opinions or suggestion are welcome.
Any mud tire will really howl, some more than others.
What's the reasoning behind a mud tire? Why not a All-terrain tire like the BFG AT? An At will be much quiter, and will do way better on the snow and ice.
I love the look of mud tires also. They do make more noise but I have a new set of 33/12.5/17s Coopers STT. They arn't as loud as others that I have had and are the best handling smoothest tires I have ever owned. I put about 50k a year on trucks so I have went through some tires. Go to Cooper site and look at them. They have a great side wall look too.

Just curious if you have the radial stt or just the stt. I see there is a different tread design and was wondering the pro's and con's of both.
the AT KO BFGs are your are best alternatives. I like the way the mud terrain looks as well. But look at some of the reviews of those tires on Tirerack. People are dying to get them off their vehicle. Its way too loud, it doesnt handle at all during wet or dry, evevn in deep snow. So choose wisely because tires are not cheap these days. I went with the BFG A/T and they rock!
P.S. I cant wait until the sidewalls gets worn out due to me turning fast....
I have the radials. I have about 7k miles on them and seem to be doing well milage wise. As far as the post about people dying to get them off I am not sure. We just had about 7" of snow and they did fine havn't had any problems at all on wet roads. As I said before they are twice as good as the junkers that came on the truck. No lie it's hard to believe the differance in handling, maybe do to a stiffer tire. Also had my alignment checke do to some wear on the old tires and after I installed the 2" kit, it was off so it would be a wise to check your alls. I here that alot of the 05 were not right to begain with.
I made a mistake I have the armor tek belted tires . These are the new tred desing and I guess that it's still kind of hard to find them every place. The post about the old tires was correct they were not very good on the highway. I had a set. The new ones are alot better. My tire guy promised that I would like them and he was right. Tires are just like truck brands some people love the same ones that other's hate. To bad you can't try them for a week.

i have 36X12.5x16.5 bfg mt's on my 88 superduty, and love them. i think they are twice the tire of the at's i took off. as for being bad is snow, last Monday i pulled 9 other 4X4 trucks out, and plowed 3 single lane dirt roads with 4-5 foot drifts, all over 1/2 mile long. no one else could get in even 50 ft before getting stuck. i cant comment on road noise though, i have a diesel, so i don't hear any tire noise.
