okay guys, i got a problem that i don't think i want the answer to but i'm gonna ask anyways cuz i'm not sure.... how do i get the heater blower motor out of my 75 crewcab 4x4...that has factory air? is it in that damn evaporater box under the hood? or buried under the dash.. none of the manuals i have show removal for that year with a/c....
This is along the same lines as fordraceboy's question. Is there any way to lube a blower motor/squirrel cage that squeels or does it have to be replaced?
Fordraceboy It is in the Box under the hood but you have to get to it from in the truck under the dash. Have fun! The tech article is a big help.
FordtruckskickGM If you just want to try it, I'm sure you can just drill a hole in the top of the plastic housing under the hood about where the squirrel wheel is attached to the blower moter and then stick the little plastic hose from the end of the spray can through there and spray away. Then put a dab of silicone over the hole to seal it back up. Not sure if it would work but worth a try. I'm sure someone will come up with a better answer. Just my .02
Allow yourself plenty of time, it took me about 8 hours to do mine. A heater core cost around $30, you may want to replace it also just to be sure you won't have to tear into it again soon.
Paging Thomas Hogan.....Thomas Hogan, the editor of that article, you have a courtesy call on the white phone. (I couldn't help myself. That always reminds me of the movie Airplane) Okay, back to business. I don't know this persons userid but I wanted to contact them for possible revisions to those instructions? They are nice and correct, but I'm one of those dudes that has to see pics of the whole process. Well, I actually took pics as I did this a few months ago. I was thinking of adding the pics to that document or I wonder if FTE would like to get a similar version with color images in it? Would that be worthy of selling to FTE?
pix are always good IMO... i've gotten into the habit of taking them on projects i do know so i can reference them when people need em, and post as needed...
