Brought my truck in for some warranty work, and low and behold they removed my tuning. I went to reinstall it tonite, and I get a message that says, "Not original program. Contact Superchips with error E-3A". Please tell me I don't have to send the tuner back to be redone. Without the program, the truck sucks.
"If you need to return your vehicle to a service center, restore the vehicle program to its STOCK files as described below. The service center might reprogram your vehicle with an updated STOCK program without your knowledge. If your vehicle has not been returned to its STOCK program prior to service, the Superchips MAX MicroTuner will no longer be able to program your vehicle. Such failure is not covered by the Superchips Inc. warranty.
Basically, you can call Superchips, but chances are you now have a tuner that is useless, cannot be resold (because it won't program a vehicle) and at this time its only a diagnostic code read. I'm sorry to be the one to give you this news, but it pays to read the instruction - it can be a costly mistake not to.
