Opinions on SCT X-Calibrator2 for 7.3 PSD

Thinking of getting an SCT Xcalibrator2 programmer for my 7.3 Excursion. I currently have a Predator tuner, but can get a good deal on an SCT. Looks as though DP Tuner will be writing custom tunes for this and looks like the user adjustability will be enhanced soon, both good things. Anyone have experience with the SCT Xcalibrator2 on a psd? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Predator has more low end power, the SCT more top end. If the Predator meets your needs I wouldn't spend the extra money, at least not if it were my money.

Jody and Diane are great people and know what they are doing to the 7.3. I think that if Jody can do what he does with his chips to an XCal, then I say go for it.

I talked to Jody this morning, he has some if not all of his tunes available for SCT2.

FYI, the cost of tunes is higher if you don't buy the tuner from him. You won't save anything getting tuner cheaper elsewhere. You can check out the prices on the DP Tuner site. You can also get tuner at Motorhaven and get their custom tunes at no additional charge or at DPP, but custom tunes are extra charge. I'm starting to think about one of Jody's a 6 pos. chips.

Jody is probably the most well known tuner for the 7.3L. I dont think you can go wrong with anything from him.

mines a gas motor but haveing a excal2 from motorheaven i can truly say the retuneabilty of the excal 2 is way above any other tuner out on the market, and what else it can do is unreal.
with mine we ran with it hooked up to the truck and my laptop. pulled a load of info .went back and reset what we could and pulled a truthfull 35 hp more out of my v10 on a dyno.
i also have sct's proracer some thing a every day will never need .but i will say the gang at motor heaven and dpp know what to do big time .
so in my mind with all the tuners now out , for a ford, a sct is the way to fly with tuners . again immo
