I Have A 72 Sport Custom The Front Brake's Are Locking Up
I Have Replaced The Entire Brake System But The Prop Valve And That's Is Becouse I Cant Find One .so This Has To Be The Prob .anyone Every Had This Prob.
Bearmax, I had my power booster rebuilt and put a new master cylinder on it. The rod between my power booster and new master cylinder was to long and caused the brakes to be on all the time. I had to shorten that rod to make the brakes release. I have a prop valve but I have never put it on. They work so good with out it. I got the porp valve off a 73 F250 donor truck I have. I would think you could find one in a wrecking yard. Hope this helps
i did replace both of them i wonder if thats the prob how much did you cut off the rod .and how long is it now ....thank you for the info i will def look at that
Bearmax, I had to cut a total length of about 1/8in. Mine had a 1/4in adjuster on the end that I shortened as far as it would go. Then I had to cut the rod 1/8. I put a scew back in the threaded rod and ground it into a ball type end to match the ball end that I unscrewed. I loosened the master cylinder from the power booster 1/8in at a time to see when they released. That gave me a rough idea of how much to long it was. I had to put it on and off about 6 times to get it right. Good luck and let us know how it comes out. Charles
