Brake light prob
I have just replaced the in cab wiring harness on my 1993 F-150. The problem is that the fuse for the brake lights/turn signals is popping when I put the brake on. If I disconnect the switch for the brake lights the fuse does not pop. Does this sound like a bad switch or a ground problem?

If you pull the plug at the brake light switch, one wire will have 12v at it and the other goes to the brake lights and the RABS computer. I bet if you remove the brake light bulbs and ohm that wire you have a direct short to ground. I am no expert but I think that wire goes up the steering column to the turn signal switch before going to the brake lights, it also goes to the RABS computer. My guess would be you have a short in the steering column wiring.

I took everything off of the column, egn switch,turn sig switch and the eng module under the column. checked all wires and re-installed everything, now the fuse will blow as soon as I hook the brake switch up. I do not even need to push the brake pedal.
