Was your truck stopped, shifter in neutral when you took it out of 4wd low? If so, sometimes you have to back up a few feet to get it to release from low range. What do to lights on the dash do when you shift it between 4 low-4hi- 2wd?
Joe
p.s. Welcome to FTE
I have backed up 25' or more, nothing. The "4X4 LOW RANGE" light stays on no matter what position ther switch is in. My wife was driving so I don't know what she actually did to cause this.
Start it up, drive forward a few feet, stop with your foot on the brakes, leave your foot on the brakes and shift into neutral, then shift out of 4wd low while still pushing the brakes. This should take it out of low range, then put it in drive and shift it back into 2wd.
Good luck, Joe

Exactly, if you don't have your foot on the brakes AND have the truck in neutral it will not shift out of 4LOW. Check your owner's manual, the proceedures are in there as well.
Oh, so now you want me to READ the owner's manual!
I feel like such a fool! Thanks, guys. If you remember, I posted a few months ago that my new wife came with this truck. I am having lots of fun with it, drove through 22 inches of snow like it wasn't even there! I am having lots of fun with the new wife too! Not in the snow, though!
