Thumbs up LEDs getting better

Don't give up. LED technology is improving. They are getting brighter, with better color and lower pricing. I will bet that they well replace ordinary bulbs in a few years.

2 cents is always free in my garage.

the chrome trim came with the truck, every once in a while i'll see another 67-72 with it like mine. i see them lying around at the local junk yard aswell, all bent up. they're actually not chrome, they're aluminumand were at one time clear anodized like the grille, but i removed the anodizing and polished them.

i work at a motorcycle shop and we sell these little led pods harley riders stick on the underside of their gas tanks to make their engines glow. the pods consist of six leds with the resistors built in, all you have to do is stick them where you want. for the dash, i pulled it all apart, and stuck one pod on each side, theni wired them into the normal dash lights. they look better in person but they don't dim anymore, it's either bright or nothing. for the gear selector housing i drilled into the clear plastic and glued in a single blue led and wired a resistor. looks very cool at night

they look pretty sweet.

Now you need to make the front Marker/signal to match.
