I am thinking of going to the dodge for the cummins dependability as well as 20% better fuel mileage. The 6.0 is pathetic at best for fuel economy..............
I say go for it Mjstef! Your most likely a problem anyway!
Don't Go Away Mad...Just Go Away!
Oh your so nice. I have been a supporter of Ford for 17 years. Even held 2 TDS rallys at my folks campground in Florida. I am just fed up with the bullchit!!! Can your 6.0 get 22 mpg on the highway at 75 mph??? I highly doubt it!!! I have over 90 K on my 03 with over 8K in warranty work and know countless others in the same boat!! When you get 90K on yours you can talk but untill then shut the hell up!!!
2003 F250 CC 4x4 6.0 PSD 6 Speed, 3.73 XLT Dark Shadow Gray ,Moonroof, Camper Package, Skid plates ect. (Gutless PIG from idle to 1800) May 12th 03 build week. 92,000 miles as of 1/30/05......... 4" exhaust and AFE intake b&w turnover ball.
Flashed 8 times, EGR cooler replaced, VVRT solenoid replaced, Turbo Ped Replaced, EGR valve replaced 2X NO LEAKS!!! 8 new injectors, new fuel pump, new FICM, new ball joints, Exaust manifold gaskets, both front wheel bearing assy's, The list goes on and on!!! By far the worst truck i have ever owned!!!
Former trucks:
89 F250 2wd 7.3 5spd with 256K when sold
94 F250 4X4 IDI Turbo 7.3 5 spd 160K when sold
95 F250 S/C 4x4 PSD 5 spd with 146K when sold
00 F250 C/C 4X4 PSD 6 Spd with 117K when sold Current owner has over 200K on it now and all that has been done is one front hub!!
None of these trucks EVER spent a day in the shop!!!!
Before I bought my 05 PSD LB CC just to be fair I test drove a duramax and a cummins, No way I would ever drive a Chevy, Ill stick with my 6.0 through thick and thin. Ford all the way!
have to say I wasnt brand loyal,2002 7.3 was first deisel, pulled great just giong up hills here in wva the fan keep comein on ans would scream,I of corse thought it should go up the montiand at 75 and not slow down(i was new at this).I thought wow D-MAX with allision, have to admit it got 23mpg's,but when i let off the pedal and it downshifted so hard on a wet hill with my fiver behind me,that it jack knifed me,I said good bye.and now am loveing my 2006 f250.silly me always thinking the grass is greener, lol. sorry so long.

I just got 21.9 on my 6.0...But I'm a flatlander(Louisiana/Texas). My wife's YukonXL gets around 20-21 Hwy. My co-pilot has a Duramax that gets less than me, but he's very heavy-footed. Near Psychotic!

You've got to admit, confidence in your equipment and living are a whole lot better than a few mpg's.

Yep, spending a little more on diesel is better than being left with something that can't handle the job or jack knifes going down the hill and killing you or at least ruining a good pair of pants.
