yeah, i only went to the dealer because i had to find out what the problem was. You must do a heck of a lot of freeway driving for brake pads to last that long. truck runs fine other than that.
yep, lot's of highway miles. My commute is 90 mile roundtrip, mostly on the interstate. Very little braking. Ocassionally use for a light haul or to take our little dirtbikes up to the mountains or fishing or hunting. But mostly highway.
Thanks to this forum I was able to diagnose the speed sensor and and abs problem and repair myself - for a very small fraction of what the dealer would charge.
I know all dealers do not do this, but I think some may create problems so that you will be coming back. In these cases, the more you go there, the more you will be back.
I get 22 to 25 mpg, I think that is great for a 4x4 truck.

Unfortunately I am finding out the hard way this may be true at mose of the local dealers....Really a shame. I am also finding this out with aftermarket companies....namely ATS...more like ...but oh well. You live and learn
Im gonan agree I had a 98 Grand Cherokee Larado and was pretty much told the same thing put it into 4 wheel every so often to keep it lubed and operating well so i put it to the test every so often and had some of road fun
