Added another V10 to the stable today. Bought a 2000 "X" V10 4x4 XLT today. Looks nice along side my 2000 F250 V10 4x4. I'll have to get some pics of the new V10 in my gallery soon.
This is my 5th Ford! My 5th Ford truck, never even owned a car.
Any of you have your v10's oil changed at the dealership, and if yes, do you wait till the 5k marker before changing? I have a 2006/f250 and it seems to me it should be closer to 3k. Thanks!
I think the majority of us here change our own oil. But I don't really think that matters.
A lot of debate on when to change the oil and what kind of product to use- so go with what you think best. Or, maybe spend some $$ and have some oil analysis done to see how far you can go before a change. What I think we do all agree upon is that you should not wait 3000 miles before you do the 'first' oil change. Get it done with 500-1000 miles on the odometer.
Thanks NoMo. To late for me, I just had my first at 5K. Maybe others will learn from me. Now that I've read up, it does make since to change early on the first, due to debris. Wonder why Ford doesn't acknowledge this?
