Is the SCT the SuperChip Micro-tuner/ if not then what I had was the Superchip Micro tuner Programmer.
They are now different companies with different products. SCT XCAL2's can be custom tuned for what you need. There are a ton of different options that can be changed (aggressive tow/haul, EGR disabled, PI, tire size, ect, ect..). Most tuners give you an Econo/Towing tune, Street tune, and a Race tune unless you request otherwise. Most of the "big" SCT tuners are in the same ballpark as far as HP/TQ so you need to find the best price and service. I have a guy that knows his stuff and offers a fair price and great service (PM me if interested). Most of the products you read about are advertised with fly wheel HP figures. It is not unrealistic to see a little over 400HP and near 800TQ with the XCAL2 in the race tunes. There are some tuners making awesome towing tunes too.
I too am thinking about the Hypertech III. Good review in Diesel Builder Mag. Also watched the video on the Hypertech website. Dosent claim to make the most power, but faster down the 1/4 because of no de-fueling. EGT stayed safe too. Not much on this site about it.

Superchips Inc (1704-1706 and Flashpaq) also has no de-fueling.
It makes power past 4200 RPM.
I have been impressed with Hypertech since I purchased their first one several years ago. I just got rid of my '04 due to some many problems not related to the Programmer III, but during that time, if a recall came out and the programmer needed a reflash, it was done for free. The programmer was always run on stage 3 and boy did it give the truck PSD some git up and go. When I got the offer to go to an '06, I jumped on it. Hypertech only charged me $200 to get the new one. They have a customer for life.
