I am thinking to by Hypertech programmer and I found warranty is like this:
Hypertech products are covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty... This Limited Lifetime Warranty is to the original purchaser for as long as he or she owns the vehicle on which the product is originally installed.
It looks like warranty is only applicable to one (first) vehicle even for the original purchaser. Should I eliminate Hypertech? Is this common for other programmers? What you would suggest?
Smokin...If you go to the SuperChips website you'll get all the specs and info you need. Also if you do a search in the forums you will come up with plenty of info.
I have the SuperChips FlashPaq and the biggest benefit is that your are able to upgrade the unit over the internet. It's very easy to do...Later there will be more goodies added. I'm happy with my choice! The only other choice I would have gone with would have been the SCT.
You have to decide whether you need On-The-Fly performance changes or if you can take the time(2-3min) for the SuperChip FlashPaq.
VicFerrari is DaMan when it comes to knowledge of the SuperChips tuners...
I had a SCT on my 04 and liked it a lot. But I have been listening to the truck shows on tv and went to Hypertechs web site and to confirm and they are saying that the SCT alows for much hotter exhaust gasses under a load than the Hypertech programmer does. Anyone have any insight into this?
Is the SCT the SuperChip Micro-tuner/ if not then what I had was the Superchip Micro tuner Programmer.

i just purchaced the hypertech programmer and well it really kicks butt.i am really happy with it. i have had it now for a week and my 6.0 just screams. i need to do the exhaust that is next. the thing i like about the hypertech is you can tow in all three stages that is the way the set there programs up so you dont have to go changing all the time. the warranty people by things everyday with the limited lifetime warranty. the way i read that is if you try to sell it then they will not warranty it because they dont know what you did to the program.
superchips warranty:This warranty lasts for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer ownership of the Product.
that is off of superchips website.
plus it looks like you get more hp and torque from hypertech and cost alittle less to.
that is the way i read. good luck.

You can tow in all modes on the SuperChips and probably the others also. You just have a capped amount to each power setting. This is what the tuner manufacturer suggests not to go over for that given setting. On the SuperChips in the Performance setting it's 6000lbs... I'll bet if you go to every manf. website you will see what their limit suggestions are.
I just tried Hypertech: I did not find any good power. Anybody tested hypertech? I do not believe their numbers...
Maybe that is why the towing is safe: no additional power.

Superchips who?
Superchips Inc or Superchips Custom Tuning (SCT)?
These are competitors, you know.
Superchips Inc was always lifetime warranty as long as I did R&D there....
Looking at their site its one year now.
