I'm just curious to know what the average MPG of the new 3V 5.4's is coming from people who own one. My 2V 5.4 in my '03 gets 16.3 per the onboard computer. So what are you guys getting with the new 3V?

 

I get 13.6 on my 05 Exped 4X4 (driving in 2WD) by the onboard computer. How do you get 16.3?

 

13.6 mixed driving on my computer also. I have never hand calculated.

 

I drive about 50 miles a day on the highway and I'm an easy driver most of the time, unless I get mad lol . I don't try to get that much out of it I just happened to switch to the MPG screen one day and saw that I'm getting 16.3, it went up to 16.4 today YAY!! I also checked it using hand calculations and it turned out to be about 16.299, so the computer is pretty accurate in this case. I ask this because I recently test drove an '05 Eddie Bauer identical to my '03 Eddie Bauer 5.4 except it had the bigger motor and on the way back to the dealership on the highway after taking it home for the day, the MPG computer was showing 19.XXX consistently and when I arrived I looked again and it said 20.1; I never reset it either. It was a 2wd and a demo w/ 7,000 miles on. But I just thought that those number were REALLY REALLY good and that was enough to want to make me trade right there lol.

 

I'm averaging 14-15 city and 17-18 highway. This is by the onboard computer. I've yet to hand calculate it.

 

i get about 14-15 city mpg on my 99 exped 4.6 with 154000 miles on it... im happy with it for now. . .
