I have a 79 F150 2wd with 31x10.5 and it looks pretty tight without a lift. Will 33's really fit? what kind of travel do you have? I use mine as a daily driver and would not stomp off road, but I still want a little play. Will They Really Fit?
79fordslug: I am not positive if 33's would fit. If your 31's are tight, then 33's probably wouldn't fit. Some 33's are really around 32 inches high. They just round it up to 33. A 2 inch body lift would make room for 33's.
79fordslug,
The F-250's sit higher than most of the comperable F-100's or F-150's. My '78 F-250 2wd has plenty of clearance turning & ditch runnin' It all depends on the individual truck (spring sag, etc.) Hope this helps, Doc
I am pretty sure that I could get 32" to fit without too much trouble, but I don't want to lift the truck as it is so expensive to lift the front end with the twin I beams. I need to replace my body mounts and I am probably going to get poly bushings. Maybe that will restore me an inch so I can squeeze new rubber in there. Thanks for the posts guys.
Does anyone know what is the widest PERFORMANCE tire that will fit in the fenderwells without affecting turning radius too much? My truck already takes a city block to turn around. How about 285/65/16? Whatta ya think?
