First I would like to apologize for what you deemed an inappropriate "chevy question".
Please understand that I am concerned about my friend's safety and the members here have been very kind and informative so it seemed like the natural place to ask.
I think your reaction was excessive, rude and uncalled for and not at all consistent with the other polite and helpful posts I have received here.
I simple "please don't post chevy questions" would have sufficed.
i agree with Ken, this is a ford trucks site not a chevy site, find you a chevy site to ask that question at or look at her owners manual. I don't think he was rude i would have said the same thing if i was in admin.
I'm sorry you feel this way but, frankly, if you're concerned about your friend's safety, why are you asking a bunch of Ford owners about Chevy towing? Why not call a Chevy dealer or ask your question on a Chevy truck site?
I make no apologies for trying to keep our site "Ford centric" and I believe posting Chevy questions on a Ford board is rude and uncalled for, especially since our guidelines state:
I truly believed that my question was appropriate for that forum. Now I understand that it wasn't.
Since it is obvious that many members own makes other than Fords, I just thought someone might be familiar with the ratings. It certainly was not my intention to be rude or offend anyone, as it seems I have, and for that I apologize again.
However, I still think your response was a bit harsh (perhaps just a female point of view) so on that matter I suppose we will just have to agree to disagree.
I have found this site's members to be very helpful, forthcoming with information, expertise and opinions. I look forward to more FTE and will try not to "ruffle any more feathers".
hope if i have a question about a freinds truck that is very overloaded, no matter what brand i could get a answer. beford someone meets them head on. lose of life isnt worth this! FORDS forever Semper Fi macks
I think that if you had posted your question in the General Discussion area you wouldn't have gotten that response. In there you can ask questions and post threads completely non-Ford related.
I think it makes sense she asked the Ford folk, considering the people in a Chevy forum would be people that..... well, preferred Chevy. Obviously, they can't be too bright. I wouldn't trust their answer on which end of a bag of chips to open.
