Cool 312 V8 Tranny?

hey, i just blew out my 3 speed w\ overdrive tranny, in my 1957 ford Ranchero, it has a 312 ci V8 in it and i was wondering if anyone could tell me of any 4 speed borg warner transmissions that would match up well with it?

I have a T-98 Borg Warner that matches right on up to the y-block, i'm not sure exactly what other trannies bolt up, just wait for one of the y-block guys to come along. If ya want a 4speed manual tranny, i have a Borg Warner T-98, send me an email if ya need it.

I think many top-loaders have the right bolt pattern. But the diameter of the bearing retainer and the length of the input shaft need to be checked.

I have an RUG 4sp/od that's a fair candidate for this swap. Do a search in this forum and you'll find other discussions about this subject.

Sorry about the other night in chat, i had way to many messengers open and at least talking to 2 people on each but most importantly i was talking to Brittany.....but.....anyways, you asked if i was getting rid of it, yes, i am along with my 292 y-block. I'm swapping in a 302/M5OD so the tranny and engine aren't needed anymore and me beign a teen on a mission to drive the truck 780 miles in December of 07, i needed something a little more reliable, Now, back on subject, heres the auction number on the tranny and engine since you were kinda interested. Item number: 8038095727

Good luck and you're not supposed to do what me as a fellow 16 year old does.....lol....you are on the right track with the old stuff.

Dustin
