I have a 1967 F-100 4X4 (manual steering) and originally, in the engine compartment where the steering column comes thru the firewall to the right of the engine, there was a round clamp that secured the column to the seal and the mounting plate. Hopefully someone will know what I am talking about. Well, I no longer have one. I guess it broke and came off somewhere. Anyway, does anyone know where to get a new one or does anyone know what can work in its place. Help if you can. Thanks.
i know what that is. junkyards might give those away. otherwise maybe use a large ring clamp. i think all that does is hold the rubber collar and coulmn.
Make sure the alignment is correct at the rag joint after the clamp is tight so you don't destroy another column bearing or possibly the steering box.
