I've got a harmonic vibration on my 86 F150 2wd. It happens during deceleration or coasting only. Isn't there one type of problem that causes vibration on acceleration and different type of problem that causes vibration on deceleration. I seem to remember reading something like that? What should I check?

What kind of shape are your u-joints in? Bad u-joints can cause alot of vibration on acceleration and deceleration, it just depends on how bad they are.
Just crawl under the truck and grab the driveline and try to move it, side to side, up and down and in a turning motion. If it moves, you need new u-joints.
