I have the acceleration vibrations that seem to be common, but I have recently developed an extreme vibration upon deceleration. It is more severe at higher speeds than at lower speeds. When I take my foot off the pedal at 70+ the whole truck feels like its going to come apart. Any ideas?
If it is that bad, the first thing i would do is jack up one front tire a couple inches (under the a-frame) so one tire is just off the ground. Grab the tire one both sides and try to jerk it left and right. See how much it moves. Look under the truck to see if the tie rods , ball joints or, steering anchor are moving sugnificantly. Put a 2 x 4 about 3 ft long under the tire and pry up and see how much up and down it has.
At speed slip the shift into neutral and note any difference with the driveline disconnected.
.
.....What happens when you suddenly lift power off the throttle the converter lockup comes off and your back to just the converter slip coupling.
.....The PCM program is programmed to do this, then go back to lockup after a short time. There is a reason this is done. If you have a tach you can see the rpm rise about 300 rpm with application of light throttle then settle back when lockup come back on.
.....If it's still there after shifting in neutral the trans or driveline is suspect.
Good luck.
I have the acceleration vibrations that seem to be common,
I hope I am not hi-jacking the thread but I am wondering what the acceleration vibration you talk about is? I have it on my '01 supercrew and have been searching for days on here to figure out what it is? Front end, rear end? U-Joint? Thanks all!

Until somebody comes back with some results from testing to get some direction, you will have to use a crystal ball for answers.
There are so many possibilities for the causes and yet people want to be told exactly.

Oh it's not neccesarily that I want to be told exactly what it is, just kinda a few problems it "might be"
In the OP he stated
I have the acceleration vibrations that seem to be common
And since I have it there may be someone to shed some light on this "common" occurrence.
For me it is an extreme vibration that seems to come from the rear end that all start from a dead stop up to about 5 mph.
web, are you going straight ahead, or are you turning sharp from a stand still when you get the vibration ? Limit slip rear end can drag and cause jumping during sharp turns at low speed.
