Headlight switch possessed

In my 81 FSB the dimmer adjusts the parking lights. I was taking the dash apart to replase the dash indicator lights that do not light up and I had figured were burnt out. I discovered dimming the parking lights by accident working at dusk. I`ve tried to remove headlight switch but the wiring is too short to get both hands on it to unplug. Still confused.

Any time I have had weird things happening with lights,I usually find a broken or corroded ground.

The headlamp switches can overheat at the connector as well causing no end to the headaches. My 92 did this. The internal circuit breaker in the switch "froze" and would not trip on a short or overload. Left the connector and the harness up to it charred and unable to fit properly on a new switch so I ended up replacing BOTH the switch and the connector. Let me tell you, its not fun.
