My truck doesn't even have one and I told you guys what it was. Plastic could be gone over something as simple as putting the front of the truck in a snow bank and backing out or from the vehicle getting towed (even on a rollback this could happen) to something as major as front end damage that when repaired they missed this item. They aren' t held on by much so the possibilities of losing it are limitless.
Anyone else have any input on the possibilities of buying a truck from 900 miles away? My plan is to fly up, drive back. Been saving my pennies and plan to pay cash. Everything has to be perfect for me to fly up there and drive 15 hours back.
I live in Los Angeles. Bought my ideal truck in Dallas. A twenty-four hour drive home, but a great shake-down cruise with no problems at all. $200 for a plane ride, another $200 for fuel, and I saved around $6K.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd do it all over again.....
Hold out for the leather. You'll appreciate it every time you climb in to it.
What did you do to protect yourself? Having some BBB complaints dont make me feel so good. Its the best truck I have found. The only thing that it doesnt have that I would like is reverse aid sensors. I wouldnt mind having leather, but it is not an issue if I cant get it.
I looked locally for several weeks and everything here is either junk or a 6.0. Katrina has increased the demand for 7.3 trucks dramatically.
I bought it from a private party so it was a cash deal. I flew down to where the truck was for sale planning to either drive back home with the truck, or back to the airport to fly home.
