I have turned and forced and cussed the 4" MBRP downpipe and can't get it in. Instructions are useless. I am going in from below and the auto trans dip stick is in the way. If I remove it to get the dp in I won't have room to reinstall it. What am I doing wrong?
I dont know if there is a different dipstick tube for the install of that downpipe. That might be the problem. I know things get pretty tight when the 4" pipe is installed.
I think you should be able to gently bend the dipstick tube enough to get the DP in. I didn't have to bend mine, but I didn't have the MBRP system either. My instructions did say that I might havet to bend it though.
my mbrp was easy to put in i just rotated the dp until the curve on the bottom was facing forweard and once i got it past the tube i was able to rotate it back. it is easier with 2 people
something is wrong with your dipstick tube. the tube should be at least 1/2'' away from the 4'' downpipe. make sure it is the first piece you are putting on in the system, and i used a bungee cord between the framerails to hold the downpipe up far enough to the point where i could climb up top quick and secure it.
Appreciate the replys. I finally got it. Had to hold it up with a jack from underneath and climb on top and pull while moving the dipstick pipe around. Would have been a lot easier with two but my helper went to college.

Oh good you got it in. I had to remove my rear crossmember and jack the transmission up against the bottom of the cab to get mine in.
