The thing is, at the moment we have a pretty much full size lorry (Truck). Which is way bigger than An F350. too big for what we need really, so the size issue isn't really a problem, but to down size We are faced with 2-litre powered stuff.
What is the differnce in size an weight from F350 to F450. I have seen these on ebay but not in the uk. Are these driven on a car licence in the states?
The newer ones are, the frames may be a bit heavier, as is the suspension. I don't know for sure how many years it has been that way, but for the most part it is hard to tell the difference visually until you get up to one and see the badges and the larger diameter tires.
At my grandparents place i haul water for them, using a f-350 reg cab dually with a 460 5 spd and a flat deck. There is a 1000 gallon water tank on the back that usually has at least 900 gallons in and it hauls it pretty easily.
F-350 Dually with the proper deck/bed can easily carry 4 horses.
Theres 100's of them around here.
You could put a 9 0r 10 ft long by 7 ft wide deck on it.
Thanks for the reassurance vinford, around here seeing an F 350 dually is like you seeing a ford transit. They do exist, but it was difficult for me to work out if it would be possible to convert it for what I want.
I was just in Pensylvania, and saw listings for many of 3500's a 350's with stock hauler boxes on them, don't see it as a problem at all. I'm not talking racks on the boxes, but more the type of box you are referring to.
I remember it well. Around here, almost all farmers did it (and sometimes still do). The farmers that did it were generally very slow and deliberate drivers driving 6 cylinder pickups. It wasn't safe or pretty but the police left alone (and still do) because they say farmers have so many loopholes in the Virginia law that it is not worth the trouble. They also know that a typical country farmer is going to show up in court and argue in front of the judge.
