Another request for my homemade grill recipe. 3/4" square aluminum tube cut to fit for length. 1 & 1/2" flat alum stock, cut to length and bent top and bottom for brackets. Plastic square caps for ends of tubing after its cut. Simple as that! I used spare piece of tube for spacer, and self tapping tex screws to attach it together. Get the flat stock to fit first, and then screw tubing on before bolting the whole thing in.
Your grill looks better than any plastic thing installed by Ford after metal and aluminum grills went away, damn good looking.
One other thing, where did you get the old style adjustable vacuum advance unit, it looks like the one with a hex cap and nipple with washers and spacer inside. Where you got it, price and availability? Thanks, Carl.....=o&o>.....
I bought this reman diz from one of the auto parts stores years ago. It came with it. I think I paid about $40 for the whole thing. The only big change I've made to it was a Pertronix setup. Havent touched it except for new diz cap a couple of yrs ago. i guess I didnt know they were adjustable.
could you send me more detailed info on your grill i really like it. I jnust havent gotten to making on yet as im still Install the new motor and trans, this is the third motor in 12 months. thanks i's really appresate it.
The 1st motor was in it when i bought the trucj and i had to time it up, and some other little stuff, the next motor was junk yard 360 i bought for a hundred bucks, and tossed new bearings in, this motor is a autozone "evergreen" motor. hay i gotta get the time back on the road doe give me too much crap for buying a autozone motor. I'm taking engine rebuilding this year, im trying to finish my ase master tech crap, so im going to build a 410 or 418 for it this year, but hay the trans is bukllet proof, i built it my-self so its got about 6 months of work before it blows up too. lol NEED more money we are now accepting donations for the buy Rick a 428 crankshaft fund, please send money, or a 428 crank? please? lol
Thanks for the props, but i really dont want to take things apart. Just put your head closer to the puter monitor and get closer. I guess if a guy wanted chrome, you could buy some towel bars and have it shiny. The alum matches the rest of it better on mine.
The Ram Air system came from an ad I found in a hot rod mag. I believe the company is located in Ontario Canada. They make Ram setups for EVERYTHING. Dont know if I have their address anymore, but will look around. sometime back somebody found it or their website.
By the way I have made one by joining two snorkles together. I haven't had a chance to test it being that my frontend is apart. But, as soon as that's done, it will go on.
Wow Tom, this thread keeps coming back, I keep drooling over those pics, I keep wanting to ask: Are those zip-ties separating the plug wires? I've heard of such a trick, didn't think it would look that clean.
