First of all thanks for all the good info and yes I am hunger for all I can learn.
They said the tranny was ok for what they could tell put it was 5 qts low. I don't know how that happened but they think it is the rear seal that goes to the tranfer case (4X4) because the transfer case was over full. So now they told me to drive awhile and bring back in 200 to 300 miles to check again to see if the fluid is going to the transfer case. There are no leaks visiable or on ground. They look also and found none. Recomendations if leak is transfer case is to replace seal and drain tranny and tranfer case (service both). I think while they are doing this I will have a shift kit installed and also have rearend done also. Has any one heard of this happening where the tranny leaks to transfer case?

The brake you installed does that go to the WG ?
There is no way for the seal to transfer fluid from the transmission to the transfer case. It would leak out between the halves if the rear seal on the transmission were leaking. I've had my transfer case out on the bench. There is a seal on the transmission side and a seal on the transfer case side, both of them facing each other with a dry spline shaft in between. Any leak will fall out on the road before it goes to the other unit.
This issue has surfaced once or twice before here on FTE and someone who knew what was going on said something about checking the vent lines for the transmission and transfer case. They come to a tee with a common outlet and the transfer is happening through the vent lines. You need to separate the two. Most likely what is happening is the transmission is overheating for some reason, the fluid level is getting too high in the transmission and then getting burped into the transfer case via the vents.
Sorry for the long post, but I need to make sure you know that the seal at the tailshaft of the transmission is most definatly NOT where the leak is.
Thats good news. Not knowing how the transfer case ties to the tranny I would have to say it could. Where is the vent line in the general area. And whats the best way to separate?

I don't know, I have a stick shift and that's the extent of my experience with the PSD. It should be somewhere on the top of the transmission and be a little bigger around than a pencil.
Thanks I will look. I am also going to but on Tranny Kooler.
that is a MUST HAVE when you go to tow that new 5ver of yours... get the BIGGEST one you can get..! i got a Tru-Cool low pressure drop model and i love how much it has lowered my tranny temps especially when towing my 5ver..!
Ha, that what I will get is a big Tru-Cooler. I read alot about them and they seem to be the best for what I need. I am going to go have the tranny service and the transfer serviced also. I m thinking of a shift kit or should I not? Any comments on that? And if so what kind is the best to install for pulling?

This thread is all over the place.
Run a search or two. You can go with a sonnax kit (cheaper) or a BTS valve body (IMO, better). I just replaced my sonnax kit with a BTS valve body and like it a lot better. Also check this current thread out. It's more on your topic: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s....php?p=3392632
