well I cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to fit in the recess area on the back wall. It fit nicely and with a couple pieces of plumbers strap to hold the top in, it works well. I put a couple of angle braces along the bottom to keep the bottom from moving at all. Now I just need to trim the carpet to fit the new area & I'll be ready to mount it and wire it up. Now if I could just get my Kenwood h/u out of the dash
It shoulda come with some "keys" of some sort to put in either side of the radio and pull out. I couldn't get my HU out, even with the stupid keys, it just wouldn't budge. I ended up just pushing the keys in and pulling them out really fast over and over and suddenly pop, out it came. I don't reccommend it though.
the stereo was in the truck when I bought it and the keys weren't with it. I just bought a bunch of stereo removal keys on Ebay for a little over 6$ shipped. He is shipping today, so hopefully that problem is solved.
I used it when I replaced my factory stereo in my '03 s-crew with an aftermarket one. They show you how to remove the old and install the new, along with wiring instructions and what tools you'll need.
