Problem with lights
A few weeks ago I had a problem with the interior lights and running board lights coming on for a few seconds and then going out. It would also lock and unlock itself and the keypad waould not work.
I was advised it was the battery, and after having it tested I repalced it. That was 3 weeks ago. No problem that I had noticed until last night it started happening again. I disconnected the battery for the night to avoid a complete discharge and this morning it started alright.
Has anyone had this problem? Is it still the battery, or is there another problem that needs to be dealt with.
Thanks all,
John
You can simply check the alternators condition with an "low coast" voltage multimeter. Perfect charging Voltage from the alternator to the battery is between 13,8Volt - 15,4 Volt.
Take a look at your battery connectors/clamps, is this properly fasten without green/white korrosjon? If so, use an mixture 50/50% with hot water and naturel vinegar in combination with a brush to clean the battery connectors.
Check also your ground cable from the battery to chassis.
