check engine light stays on.
hey guys,

has anyone had this problem. check engine light came on couple days ago and will not turn. got parts on the way, but i cant get the light to reset.

left the battery unconnected over night and started it up. 20mins ago and the light is still on.

yes pull the codes,

just wanted to reset the light to see if it didnt read right cause the truck wasnt warmed up

114 117 636


nothing yet, but shouldnt unhooking the battery reset it for a bit before it retrips the light

Depends on the fault. Some can show up instantly. Warm the truck up, disconnect the battery, reconnect, then get both the KOEO and KOER codes.

I believe Codes 114 and 636 are KOEO only codes. Code 117 is listed as KOEO and CM. Codes 114 and 636 will not trigger a CEL, but Code 117, if it is in CM, will.

I assume you are leaving your code reader or paperclip in long enough to read the CM does? They are displayed after the KOEO tests are completed.

yea i leave hooked up, untill its done,

just have to wait till the parts come in.

A little more details please.

You left the battery unhooked over night and then what happened when you connected the battery cables?

Did the codes appear after starting and running the engine?

Are the codes from the KOEO tests or from Continuous Memory (CM)?

i got it figured out, the senor was bad from the store got other one and she is fixed now,

thanks for yalls help
