Boss, all of our commercial airplane factories are in the US (and we assembly all planes in the US) are in the US. We do have one factory in Canada, three down under...and suppliers al over the world, but Boeing is defently US made. We out source but that's just so they will buy our products..Our defense and Space plants are all US as well.
"Most of the Toyota's and Honda's sold in the US are made in the US...made in America, by Americans(okay mostly Americans?? As far as I'm concerned, they are American made." This is the #1 problem facing Ford, GM and other US auto makers. You are not buying an American product! Where do you think Mr Toyota and Mr Honda get there raw materials and supplies? You guessed it-imported from there home countries. They only buy the minimun amount of US goods as necesary. Many companies that use to supply Ford and Gm are quietly going under as Toyota and other Forgien auto makers expand the operations in the US. Wake up America-Buy American!!!

What about the Fords that are assembled in Mexico? Are they American made or Mexican made?
Are all the parts used in our Ford trucks US made?
Ford, GM, & Chrysler just need to compete! They can do it, and I hope they do. But to blame the imports for their problems in short-sided and wrong. Companies that are not managed properly don't normally last... I seriously hope they can get it together. Life without Ford trucks would just suck!
Yeah but Lonnie Boeing is outsourcing even more with the 787. They are heading more in the long run to just being a assembly company instead of a manf company.
Within the past month or so, an article mentioned Coke employees (at the big office) could only bring in Coke products. The sight of Pepsi cans at the corporate offices irked the Coke president.
I am surprised this is a new policy at that Ford plant. For some reason, I had always assumed that car plant parking gave preference to their make cars.
They just had it on WDIV here in Detroit. Ford has issued a rule that no imports will be allowed to park in their parking lots at Dearborn Assembly. Only people with special permits will be allowed to park their imports there. Channel 4 said it was met with thunderous applause by the workers there. One guy, though, who works there, said it wasn't fair. that the only car he can afford is an import. You mean, you work at Ford, make good money and you can't afford to buy what your company makes? Rediculous.
That's stupid. Since when did companies get to dictate what we do or spend our money on outside of work? I said the same thing when some companies began to crack down on smokers (and I don't even smoke!).
if you all remember 3 years or so ago i brought this up in a post. the fact that you could go to any ford motor co or dealership and everyone who works there drives a chevy or dodge but not a ford , just like you get people who can't stand kids being teachers just for the job. well, i give maximum respect to Bill Ford for the new stance " PARK YOUR CHEVYS ACROSS THE STREET" FORD PARKING ONLY !
I love it.

They are not dictating what they do or spend their money on. Look at it this way:
"FORD Gives A Perk To Supporters Of The Company"
Does that sound better? Because that's all it is.
If you support the company you get to park closer. If you don't want to support the company then you park further away. Plain and simple. No dictating here.
OldGoat, your statment is correct but that's only one model out of 5. We had to do that since the (composite model) since the market place drove us to it. We didn't have the capability inside since we got rid of our autoclaves and composite factories. The suppliers did build some factoreis right oustdie the gates where the 787 will be assembled helping the community and emplopyment. As we move more and more to converting all of our models to this more and more suppliers will learn how to do thos new material and convert as well or go out of business. I still support Boeing where ever I go and do my best to fly Boeing.
They just passed the same rule for the Claycomo MO plant where they build F150s and Escapes. Its been an unspoken rule for years but the plant just made it official the other day. It just shows support for your company and for your job and when Ford is cutting out 30K jobs and restructuring the company to try and save its own hind end I think all employees should be driving a Ford product. Lukily the Claycomo plant is fairly safe from the shut downs because of its products it produces including the Escape Hybrid and standard version and the best selling vehicle in the country. They also have another 610 acres of land they can develop to expand production capabilities if need be.
Makes one think that maybe if every Ford employee from day one bought Ford if they would be in the same boat they are today. I own all fords (4) myself and always have.
