Is there any way that I can get brighter bulbs for the reverse lights. I know I could buy aftermarket aux reveres/utility lights but a different bulb would be better
I have the halogen reverse bulbs.. first set burned out very quickly.. second set seems to be doing ok. The view from the cab is not much better with them, but the truck is more noticeable to other drivers. Since I plow snow that's a big plus so I continue to use the bulbs even though they're not remarkably brighter.
I don't recall the brand, but I can try and find it for ya.
I purchased these at Pep Boys, they are from Design Tech, kind of hard to find. But they're out there, hope this "brightens things up" for you! lol http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/designtech03.htm
Btw, grab some SilverSters while your there, nice upgrade to fogs and headlamps.
I gave up and had to install aux reverse lights. Could not see a thing with stock or any type of upgrade bulb. Wired a relay into the reverse circuit so they come on automatically when the stock lights come on. Only problem in 4 years was the fuse holder burned up due to getting wet. Depending on where you put it, use a marine holder since they are water tight.
Maybe i'm just wierd but...when I go to my truck at night or early morning and I open my door to start my truck it it seems like it draws too much attention (inside my head of course) with all the lights and the beepers, bongers, buzzers, etc. (which are also disabled) going off. I guess don't like to be heard or seen. lol.
I did not use these, but the same principle. When I installed the lights I used about the same size halogen, but slimline lights mounted right to the receiver. I might of tried these if I had seen them.
I have had the white knight brand lites for about a year. They are good lites ,I wired them into the trailer lite wiring so they come on when you back up. They have a switch to turn them on/ off/ or with your back up lights. The only problem you might have is your trailer might partly block the light if is a bumper hitch.
