Ok there are times that I will put it in park and it will be idleing really high and I can't get it back down.. Doesn't do it all the time just sometimes... I don't think it would be a vacuum problem cause it doesn't do it all the time..
2nd drove to work this morning and shut it off to go in hardee's and came back out and it acted like the battery was dead.. had to sit there for a few minutes and it finally started.. I can let it set for a day or a week and it will fire right up but if I drive it a while and shut it off and try to restart it it acts like it is dead and drags to start? Please help?
Sounds like it could be a dirty IAC.....you should pull the codes here is a link that shows how to do it with a paper clip http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=13Then either use the search function or post what cods you came up with. You can also search IAC cleaning.....I think that will cure 90% of the problem.
I would also give all the battery leads, terminal's, and grounds a good once over.......sounds like a ground issue.
If I may be just a bit more succinct, IAC is usually the Idle Air Control solenoid, valve and their associated components. If the IAC is working properly, you should be able to run the engine to warm it to normal operating temp. and disconnect it (electrically) and the truck will wind down and die within a few seconds.
