Thumbs down Fluctuating Electricity

I have an 85 bronco, and I recently changed the voltage regulator. That seemed to fix my charging system problem and it was fine for about a week. I'm also installing another aftermarket radio and during that my electricity starting fluctuating. all my lights dim then brighten but if i turn more lights on it seems to have more resistance and doesnt do it as much. The battery gauge on the instrument cluster fluctuates from the full pinned position to about half or a little under, and makes a ticking sound as well. ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS?? thanks

Sounds like something is shorting out. I would look near the battery/alternator/solenoid area. Reason being, it sounds like a serious short from the symptoms you describe and most wiring is protected by fuses. So look at the wiring before it get to the fuses. Check fusable links too.

Hope that helps you, I know it's not very specific.
