I just bought a 2004 F-150 (stolen recovery vechile), its has no ignition and the truck has a factory anti-theft on it. I can stick a screw driver in the ignition and turn it, everything comes on but doesn't crank over. I know I can take it to the dealer and spend a lot of $$$$ and have them fix the no start problem. I need to get the truck to the body shop, front end allinment, etc. I need a temporary fix, does anyone know how to bypass the anti-theft system?
As far as I know, if its like my Mustang, there is no way to start the car without the programmed key. Ford said that the key sends a signal to the computer, allowing ignition. There is no way to bypass the computer to start the car, so I doubt your truck will either.

There's no way to start the truck without the correctly encoded key. The system in the truck is looking for a key with the code that matches what's in the computer.
A locksmith can install a new ignition lock and program the keys. Or a dealer can do it.
When it is re-keyed and coded, you will probably notice the check engine will flash once it starts. The code will be for an attempt to start the truck without a programmed key.
Kinda makes you wonder how they stole it by just popping the ignition switch....
Just like your other thread...No one here is going to tell you how to bypass the system.
Instead of having it towed to the body shop, tow it the dealer. They can do the alignment and re-key it all at one time.

I lost my 2nd key for my '05 F150. Went to dealer and they charged $36.00 to reprogram keys and $26.oo for a new key. Once you have 2 keys you can program additional keys yourself, owners manual tells how it's done. Doesn't seem to be all that much for a new key considering the cost of towing the truck to the dealer.
All f-150's have ford's anti theft system and then though they poped the ignition the truck is looking for the computer chip in the key Is the anti-theft light on the dash flashing fast?? Meaning its not going to START..
The system is not easily disabled just for that reason or these trucks would be getting stolen left and right!
One question did the thefts actually steal the and make off in the truck?!? (i was told it CANNOT be done) Or did they just TRY to and pop out ignition lock??
