Ive got a near perfect condition 80 mph one, Id trade you if you want.

The government lowered speed limits and forced the auto manufacturers to limit their spedos to 85 mph and also highlighted th 55 on the spedo since it was the common highway speed. Have you noticed that there arent too many cars from the 80's with spedos over 85? Some time in the 90's the government changed the rules to let auto manufacturers have spedos over 85.
Just because it only marks 85, doesn't mean you can't wrap that needle around to 10 again(personally experiance). I'm guessing that it was close to 110 or so.

My 77 1/2 f250 4x4 has a 85 mph spedo unknown trim ( the badges were gone when i got it. Has the what i call ranger trim ( chrome with black rubber) ,the racetrack trim, chrome on the drip rails, and the large ford chrome plate on the talegate, but no molding in the front windsheld. Anyone know how to tell what the trim level was?

Wink

G'day Guys
Now I know why we didn't get things like power steering, aircon, tilt column or any other comforts.
We got the racing variety in OZ.
My speedo says 200 KPH (125 MPH) Its in a '79 4x2
I'm not brave enough to peg it though.
