I'm trying to locate a driver side coil spring/shock mount for a 71 F100. On every truck in every salavage yard that -I've been to, I've been unable to locate one. This mount/perch has a small bracket with a stud point toword the cab (the stud is used for mounting the shock to). The bracket is help on by several rivits.
Can someone point me the right direction to locate one, are be willing to sell me one?
I have a "spare" set of '78 I-beams. I'll check to see if they have the bracket you need. It'll be the weekend, though. Day job's got me tied up 'til then.
For those who couldn't visualize what I'm looking for (for lack of a good description) I have [A HREF="http://www.fidnet.com/~hagerty/index.html"]images[/A] posted on my website of the "needle in a haystact" spring mount I need.
Jason, any 67-72 half ton should have what you need. Are you having trouble finding the part or having trouble finding a salvage yard with someone willing to remove one for you ? Lots of salvage yard workers are incredibly lazy and say they don't have something that they know is in the yard because just don't want to get up off their dead butts and go out in the yard after it. I having trouble find it. I've personally looked at serveral local junkyards with no luck. I can find parts for 73-79 truck all day. If someone has this part I'll be willing to buy it. It is the only thing that is keeping me from driving my truck. Frustrating.

Does anyone [a href="http://www.fidnet.com/~hagerty/index.html"]this[/a] bracket for the driver side? Would someone be willing to pull it for me at one of thier local junkyards?
Jason, if you are finding lots of 73-79 parts, how about get the left and right spring pockets for a 73-79 truck and put them on your older frame ? You would have to get front shocks for a 73-79 to match the mount, but that would let you drive, wouldn't it? Does the truck you have have drum brakes up front? You could get the calipers, spindles and knuckles, discs and hoses from the same trucks and improve your braking. DF
