Yup, definitely looking for an aftermarket downpipe. The stock one is flat and quite restrictive. The aftermarket ones are round. What a neat idea! a round exhaust pipe!
Oh well.
Yeah, you'd think they'd have been able to figure something out that makes a little more sense. They went to a round downpipe on the '99, but apparently that one won't fit on an OBS truck. Next time Gadget, Next time.......
The 38 3 ton sounds like a neat truck. Is it used very often? We have a 40 something 2-3 ton ford on the farm that hasn`t been run for years with aq decent body.
We just picked it up at a sale by Bruno in late August. We have not ran it as of yet. It is on (the list) for fix up. We sprayed it down with diesel so it would not rust or seize. It was one of those sales were everything not running sold at a scrap metal price. We are excited about fixing it complatley up. One unique thing, it has hydralic front brakes and rear mechanical.
I looked at that Ford concept truck the super chief. Man that thing looks awesome. It looks like it would be a nasty looking machine coming up behind you in the rearview mirror. Check the opening page of Ford trucks here and they have a article and pics of the truck.
My brother and I went to Callingallcars ind Douglas about a year ago to look at a 69 F100 he had. It was blue and white, a camper in the back, chrome wheels, and no engine. The body looked good in the picture, so we decided to go and look. The truck turned out to be in poor shape, the interior trashed, and to top it off, it was setup for racing, and had a 327 chev and 400 turbo trans in it before! We looked at the blue crewcab for $750. It has a 351 clevland with 2v heads, and the engine isn't seized! The body and cab are in good shape, and from what I remember, had little to no rust. I believe it was a shortbox as well. We spent an afternoon looking around that day. Lots of interesting cars and trucks there.
This isn't a truck, but I was at Walmart yesterday and there was a mid 60's Mercury Comet parked by the door. The paint was faded but there was no rust and the interior was mint. It didn't look like it had to many miles on it.
