Well it's done but not without a ton of fun. Turns out the reason for several heart wrenching noises after the initial install was due to overlooking the need to remove a spacer from the thrust plate. "Thanks Highball!!" You were on the money. The gringing sounds were coming from the ecentric scraping the ribs at the top if the timing cover. Yet this did not explain why the knocking upon acceleration..."Spacer" tension applied as Highball explained was most likely working against the cam. Atfer the removal of the spacer I started her up without cover to test, she was quit as a mouse. After getting it all back together I decided to shoot on down and have that pesky exhaust leak at the cross joint solved. She ran great on the way there, they fixed the leaky pipe witha weld. Then she would not start, after a few sec I got her to fire. She ran a few blocks and putt putt.. no fuel ?? I winged into the corner gas station and put 10.00 in started her up with a lil trouble and headed home. 1/2 a block and she drops again, Autozone parking....I figured out the gas pump had taken a dump. none at Autozone, CarQuest had one 34.00 I get it (Aftermarket) a pump not "The Pump" it came with some fittings and crude instructions with incorrect routing. After figurig out the routing issue I set out to switch the fitting and crack the housing inserting the brass nipple fitting into the main fitting. "EXCLAMATION"!!!!!! No they dont have another, Kragen auto - same part same $$ I get it installed 10 min before dark and head home She runs better than ever...

I could have posted this in the FE forum but I'm sure the turmoil is bertter suited here.... As it's certainly these deadgum trucks that will be the death of us...LOL
