I have a 98 expedition with the 5.4L and I need to replace the #4 coil pack. From what I can gather I need to be a contortionist to get to this thing. This coil pack is closest to the firewall on the passenger side, and I have a really hard time getting to it. Is there a trick to this or is there an easier way to reach it? I really couldnt imagine it being this hard since u would have to do this everytime u change the plugs. If not i'll just have to brush up on my contortionist skills. Thanks for the help in advance.

You do need to be a bit of a contortionist to replace #4 COP, especially if the Expy has rear heat which means more hoses in the way.
I usually tie the hoses out of the way as best as I can and then go for it.
If you look near the top of the 97-03 F-150 forum here there's a write-up on how tp replace your plugs. You might find some info there that will help.
Good luck with it
Contrary to some opinion, you CAN remove the COPS without removing the fuel rail. Once you take the COP retaining bolt off, pull up on the COP to release the boot from the plug, then just twist the COP while working it around the fuel rail. IT CAN BE DONE. Just be patient.
Be sure to look closely at the heater hose connections while you're back there messing with #4. If there's a coolant leak back there, its been reported on this forum that #4 COP has been ruined from the leak.
