Trans gone bad...

Howdy all,

First post here..from so cal. I was out in Utah this weekend and heard bad noise when auto shifting from 1rst to 2nd,,now I have to ramp up to @2400 rpms then pump the gas to get it to shift..shop says it is internal and needs rebuild. Sound familiar to anyone? I am considering Jasper Monsterbox,,any other suggestions or ideas?

It sounds like the mechanical diode has failed. These were only used part of the 2001 model year because they were prone to do exactly this. Rebuild or replace are the only two choices.
