i bought themfrom the ford dealer and had them do the complete install. cost me right at 2000 complete. about 70 more than the local drivetrain shop wanted so i figured ford would be better 12 month warranty and they come lapped so no breakin required and they are quiet and smooth
nope guess not have about 10 miles on her now. i asked service manager he said the come pre lapped ready to go just like a new truck i guess, ive never broke in a rear end in a new truck
I just did my rear end gears a couple months ago (3.73s for 4.30s) and will do my front end gear swap next month. The rear end swap cost me $0.00 (My buddy gave me his whole rear end w/stock 4.30s for mine). Gear swap up front will run me about $500. I am running 37s and at 70MPH I am running at 2250 rpms.
