This would be a given on any engine with adjustable valve lash. However this should not have anything to do with your problem. Are all of your valves opening and closing normally? Just wondering if the camshaft has broke clean in two. This could possibly leave enough valves open on various cylinders to have no compression.

Whatever the case if you figure it out don't leave any of those valves "tightened down"

Good luck!!!

How about the exhaust system could it be blocked? If you can't exhaust the
cylinders you can't fill them.

When you crank the engine over, are the valves opening and closeing? No pressure in all cylinders does sound strange. Sounds like the cam shaft may have broken right behind the sproket. Let us know.

Here's an idea.... the gauge is broken.
Test it on another ride.

Pulled Cam It Wasnt Broke But Showes Wear Have A New One Coming With New Lifters, and Changing Gears,so I Guess Ill Know Tomorrow.we Tried Two Pressure Gages.i Will Let You Know .hey Thanks For The Feedback. Ps The Valves Were Not Opening When Cranking Engine,if We Losened Them We Would Get Compression.

This is the strangest part folks. Something just doesent add up. "The valves were not opening" but they have to be loosened to get any compression. (???)Think about that one a minute.

The action of loosening the valve to get compression indicates it is being held open. Are all of the valves held open? I am surprised that the cam is even turning as a couple of us mentioned might be the problem.

Frankly it is hard to imagine a cam that has lobes wore to the point of no valve action, all on a drive home.

That is another thing, this thing was a driver that just shut off. Nothing wore out. Something broke. I dont think cam replacement will fix this problem, unless it has broken that is.

Just some thoughts. It will be interesting to hear what is found to be the culprit. Let us know......

The only way this makes even a little sense is if the timing gear had the cam indexed wrong. As in it was opening a valve on the compression stroke. Then by loosening the "valve" (I'm presuming by loosening the rockers) they are then closed all the time.

Another possibility...what condition were the lifters in? If they seized in an open position... This is remote, I wouldn't expect all cylinders to do this at the same time. If the lifters were seized I'd also check the oil pump as possible cause of the lifter failure. Not to mention verify that bearings haven't been damaged as well.

You didn't run this at real high rpm's did you? I saw an engine once that the lifters pumped up and it shut off and wouldn't start. Cranking it you could hear it had no compression. After sitting a couple of hours off it went. Even if the cam timing was off
you would get all kinds of action fromthe engine.
