Before I ordered my 2000 F350 I was hesitant about cab lights. Someone talked me into them and I loved'em. When I ordered my 2006 replacement truck, there was no hesitation. I think they make for a great look at night.
And, by the way, I do know how tall my truck is. I have enough problems with parking garages and you HAVE to know how tall these beasts are.
I wish I had them on my new truck because they look cool. Its pretty hard to find LB CC single wheel 1 ton trucks around here I took what they could find at the time.
I actually ordered my 06 without them. Then i started looking at all the superdutys around here and couldnt help but notice how cool they look with the cab lights at night so i changed my order and now that i have the truck i love them.
They just make it look so much meaner when you just have the markers and the fogs on at dusk. I've had buddies tell me that were coming from the other direction, "That thing just looks evil!"
I'm relatively new to the big truck thing. I went from a Honda Civic to a 2006 F350 SC PSD Lariat DRW on December 21, 2005. I love it. But back to the subject of this thread. I love my roof clearance lights, I agree with everyone that they look awesome all lit up, but I am curious what there "real" purpose is? What is their function supposed to be? Thanks everyone.
I like lights, period. Some think I am silly, but I don't wan't my SD to look like all the others. I like the fact people I know can see from a distance that it's me. There isn't another truck like mine anywhere around. I though have a need for lots of lights since I use my truck as a race track safety vehicle. Lot's of flashing lights gets you seen when cars are closing on you at 170 mph. Cab lights just add to the visual package. Besides, to some they look cool.
Some like lifts, some like big tires, some like booming sound systems, I like lights. I say make your truck yours. If you don't like cab lights great! To each his own.

Reason: spelling
I ordered them because I always liked the look of trucks with them. Also figured that it's easier to see my truck at night and it may save me from getting in an accident.
One benefit is oncoming traffic can see you sooner when your on a "roller coaster" type two lane road. The 177 from the 10 to Vidal Junction in California is a road we use 10 or 12 times each summer and the oncoming traffic will see cab lights first as we crest a hill. I don't need people coming the other direction passing in my lane.
