05 super duty cab lights are nice you may be seen in bad weather than with out and they look nice. The tow command lights on the mirror are nice on the super dutys also. I my self like the lights.
I like cab lights - think they are good looking and add safety to a truck. A friend of mine who has a GM dually spend hours and $ removing his - I told him it looked better with them on - lol. He didn't agree - but then it's a GM.

Tow command lights on the mirror? Sound like special order?
I like the looks. I know there is a legal reason for them, and if you're not up to those legal limits, why bother? Well, I like the look.
For the record, my SD doesn't have them, but my highboy did (brother needed them). When restoring the truck 15 years ago, I bought new ones ... Could have easily closed up the holes and made it look perfect, but wanted them.
I have no plans on putting them on my SD for the forseeable future... but can't rule it out if I get bored
I heard from a state trooper they are legally required in Illinois to pull a trailor. Dumb law but sounded like a good reason to back up something i wanted.
On another note most laws i have seen say on vehicles over 80 inches (dually) you should have 5 cab lights, 1 center, 2 spaced evenly from center and 2 as wide on the cab as is practicable. how does the gm pass this reg with the long center light?

I believe it is if the trailer is over 80 inches in width, then the trailer must have the ID and clearance lights. Whichever vehicle is over 80, or even if both are over 80, each vehicle over 80 is required to have them. Notice that duallies also come with the ID bar under the tailgate on the rears, as do trailers over 80 inches wide. The three on the roof center, and the three under the tailgate, are required. The outer two are "clearance" lights.

The long center light is actually 3 lights inside some sort of plastic cover. Look closely and you'll see three distinct lights, making up the ID lights... and of course the two outer clearance lights.
What I've wondered is... anyone notice the GM's with the rear wheel steering? They have lights on the fenders (fenders that just barely stick out more than a regular SRW truck), as well as the ID bar under the tailgate, and I think as well as the cab lights. Are these trucks over 80" wide?

the lights he's talking about come with the lariat package (or king ranch) not the tow command package.
If you get Trailer Tow Mirrors with the lariat, or the king ranch, there are 4 orange LED running lights in the integrated mirror turn signal. Very slick.
I have a 250 king ranch on order and one of the reasons I am getting it is the look with the clearance lights, the lights on the mirrors and the fog lights. It is an impressive site coming at you. I would only get the 250 without the lights if they were not offered. Chevy and GMC screwed up when they changed there 3 middle clearance lights to be under 1 strip. Ok at night, but looks stupid during the day.
Can you give me some more details on the requirements for these lights?
