It's a single plain intake best suited for higher rpms like 2500 & up.

The Torker name gives you the wrong impression of what it is go for. High RPM racing engines like them.

I may try one on my dually after I port the heads and install a low duration high lift cam. I dont think it would work well for towing with out some major work most should stick with the Performer or its RPM version

For the 460 the original Torker might be a better pick for towing than the new Torker IIs. There is also a Streemaster torker style intake might be a Holly intake very narrow passages for lower RPM.

I just flow tested a SBC one on a fully ported Brodex Track I head. The intakes are to be used on a set of ported factory 350 Chevys in my boat.

But ported heads don't help towing (low RPM torque), they hurt it (enlarging ports slows low RPM air flow not increase it) and a single plane manifold like the Torker is designed for high RPM horsepower, not low RPM torque production like a dual plane manifold is. Why install a low end torque increasing cam and then take away that torque with a low end torque killing manifold? And engine setup need to be set for lots of low end with moderate gains at the big end or lots of big horsepower and moderate lose of low end torque. Besides, just how often do you really run your engine to the redline? For a street engine, way less than 5 percent and probabaly less than 1 percent.

Bear,
It depends on how you port the heads. My shop dosent hog ports out we shape them sometimes only adding 2 or 3 cc. Low end tork dosent get hurt untill you loose flow at low lift figures. We strive for the best flow at all lift points when flow is lost at low lift to gain it at high lift no's usually more flow is lost at low lift than is gained at high lift. I have seen 20 CFM gains at .6 lift only to loose 50 or 60 CFM or better total air flow.

I reciently had a boat with peanut port BBC heads with a Performer RPM on it. I installed a set of pocket ported Edelbrock Oval ports on it. With the factory 330 HP marine cam factory short block Brovo drive with 400 hours on it I tried 3 manifolds. A Performer RPM, a Performer air gap and a Torker II. The boat a 236 Seebold had massive bow lift with both the performer manifolds had to stand up to see over the bow in this sit down boat. ith the Torker the bow rose about one degree and just popped out of the water and I Could remain in my seat and the boat maintained its attitude up to full speed . Its all about the total package.
